Planned Parenthood - Wilkes-Barre Medical Center

Had a pretty bad experience at the Wilkes Barre location.. the nurses were nice to me but the doctor Felicia who is a nurse practitioner was horrible.. it seemed like every medical question I asked her while I was there she couldnt give me a concrete good answer... Also in the middle of the appointment while I was in the patient room my family doctor called me about something important.. I told the nurse practitioner Felicia that I would tell them to call back... And she says if you take the call shes going to have to leave because she has other patients.. there was one or two people in the waiting room and I told her I would tell them to call back... It took me 20 seconds or less than that to tell my doctors office to call me back... As I was taking the call she was sitting there shaking her head and giving me attitude... After the call she gave me nothing but attitude and everything I said she kept answering me back with rude responses and basically gaslighting me... By the way I have anxiety and they made me feel very stressed and uncomfortable... All because of an important phone call from my doctors office that took all of 20 seconds... After she was rude to me I didnt even get to ask the other questions I had because she got me so stressed and upset that I just left... On top of that her manager defended her when I reported it to her after the interaction... No matter what I said it didnt matter her manager took her side even though she was wrong... The manager of the place told me to get out of her office even though I didnt raise my voice or curse... I have anxiety and Im dealing with another health issue which is what my doctors office was calling me about... I will never go back to this location ever again for anything... The nurse practitioner Felicia and her manager have zero people skills or de-escalation skills and treated somebody with anxiety who was stressed out to begin with horribly!!! I felt worse when I left there compared to when I got there ... They should be ashamed of themselves and I will never go back there again... All over a 10-second phone call conversation which was important from my family doctor while I was in a patient room !!

The Staff was so sweet and very helpful with all the questions I had. They made me feel very comfortable and that helped ease my nervousness.

Everyone at this location is absolutely amazing. They listened to me and my concerns, they talked me through everything. I can’t thank the wonderful staff enough for making me feel so comfortable.

My first appointment here was great. The doctor actually listened to me and helped me with all of the issues I was having. She prescribed three months worth of birth control to treat my PMDD and said Id need to come back after that.So I scheduled this second appointment. On the website it asked what I needed the appointment for, and I had to type it in the box. I needed the appointment for birth control, so I typed that in. Out of the options they gave me, the one that said, I already have a prescription, I just need a refill, sounded the most accurate. The other options were for the ring, shot, IUD, etc, (I was on the pill), and for the options for the pill it was either needing a prescription or I already have a prescription.It was my bad not staying on top of things and scheduling this appointment earlier. I got myself into a pinch and only had one more dose left. I needed to get the prescription renewed.I took 3 hours out of my day to get down there and back. When they called me in, I was told that they cannot give me more birth control and Id need to reschedule. They said I need an appointment in order to get a refill. I was there for an appointment, that I scheduled! They said I need to schedule an office visit, and now they dont have anything open until next week, then they rushed me out of there.I almost cried. On top of that, I got a text message saying I missed my appointment. I hope I dont get a missed appointment fee too. I wish the website was more clear and descriptive.

I made a telehealth appointment to talk to someone about birth control options. I spoke with Eva and she was amazing! Gave me all of my options and we narrowed down the best option for me. I was able to pick up same day. Everyone there was super friendly and helpful. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was picking up my prescription and a blood pressure reading took almost an hour. Overall I had a good experience!

While we desperately need to support PP in a post Roe world, the agency needs to ensure they are always educating patients properly. Despitely several phone calls to book a removal/reinsertion for the implant, I was turned away at check because they changed removal expiration from 3 years to 5 years. They also gave me a pamphlet to read about the vague alleged new studies. Meanwhile I had to see a geisenger obgyn recently due to my period issues (which is why I use te implant), she informed me that it is still 3 years not 5 and that my signs were fm past due for removal. om the implant hormones decrease. So I am past due and PP response was inappropriate

The nurses, staff, and doctor were ALL very kind and thorough. I never had an office take their time with me, and they made sure to. Everyone was super understanding and wanted to help. Took care of my finances without me having to even ask! Wait time wasnt bad at all. Went for routine testing and the Nexplanon implant and had no problems. Even got signed up for the patient portal!

I’ve been to this location multiple times for different things, the staff here are beyond nice and they always make me feel comfortable!

It has been years since I have been able to see a doctor due to losing my insurance. I had some health concerns and was far behind on needing a pap test. I received blood work here, a pap and breast exam, and was able to express my concerns. Everyone at this facility was so kind and thorough with me, and I still cant believe all I was able to get taken care of for an affordable price. Super grateful.

I’ve been to this location multiple times for stomach pains and missed periods. Each time they dismissed my claims and blamed my weight. I don’t think they ever took me serious to be honest. I don’t have insurance so this was my only option. Well I went to another doctor, and in that visit I found out I have pcos and I had two fairly big cyst on my ovaries at the time. So how come it took multiple failed attempts at this place I don’t know. If it wasn’t for me trusting my gut and going to another doctor who knows how bad it could’ve got. Honestly would not recommend

VERY GREAT EXPERIENCE. Staff was wonderful, friendly, and professional. Mary-beth explained everything to me and made me feel so safe. Sarah Lewis was a stand-up staff member who answer EVERY question I had thoroughly. They made me feel so good being there and I look forward to going back. Would recommend to anyone. Great atmosphere! Thank you so much!

Im confused by the rudeness of this place compared to the reviews. Who says what do you want? to someone, especially in this line of business. Appointments are supposed to me made online but apparently those are fake. Appointment was made for tomorrow but now there are no appointments available for tomorrow. Going elsewhere but wow.

Geisinger is financially greedy based on their new way of forcing you to complete a general facility appt, get prescription for birth control, pick up birth control, then apply birth control; thus I am not missing out by not having their insurance plans I hear. What is this world coming to. Planned Parenthood and ALL other medical offices 2008 to present always administered my birth control as a walk in within an easy quick appt.As a female, I could not survive w/o P. P or other facilities that make birth control a fair, less greedy, and a more reasonable process aimed at protecting women (etc) and educating individuals.Females should not be picking up birth control shots at a pharmacy; if this is a thing... give me the capacity to administer it because having multiple appts. to get birth control care is not- helpful

Got seen here, and told i can call a emergency help line if I needed too after …which I did…. And it just directed me to a different location that can’t help me … in a ton of pain and not able to sit in the ER for hours and it’s unmanageable at this point. Multiple notes in to the dr, nobody is there on weekends, I guess people don’t have issues on the weekend 🤷🏼‍♀️

Be prepared to wait and if you have somewhere else to be, forget about it. Came in for a 2:10 appointem with 1 person ahead of me, and now 3:47 and have yet to be seen by the provider. Thanks for making an already uneasy situation feel that much more better.

I came here and was blown away at how friendly and thorough the staff was. I never felt awkward or scared. They took their time and made sure I was taken care of. Thank you all, it was truly appreciated.

Honestly, Ive heard a few bad things about this location over the years but I have had a wonderful experience with PP WB. I saw the 3 star online review before I ever visited the WB location as well. The staff here are very kind and understanding. They answered all my questions with genuine care and concern. I would totally recommend this location to others and Come again

I’ve called 3 different times waited longer than 20 minutes each call and kept getting hung up on ? Without anyone even picking up ? Says schedule an appointment online but you go online and it says you need to call 🥲🥹how does that work

Very difficult to get appointment. I’m having bleeding issues and I’m not sure if I have an infection from an abortion over the summer, but all I get is rescheduled to later dates. I’ll find someone else.

I have 2 children went for a annual check up my son was fine the whole waiting time and while I got my vitals then I was told I have to do financials in this small room with myself my 2 children and 2 other people because one was n training so my 8 month son was annoyed annoyed and crying I was told to reschedule or or make my son stop crying so I left without being seen oh yea or come back when I have a sitter ! If I had one best believe I would have not brought them

Good place for free birth control. Just make sure you clear your schedule for the rest of the day. Youll be waiting hours, with or without an appointment.

They are very kind and nice. The nurse practitioner is very sweet.
